Ephesians 5 Lesson 7


But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. and do not  become partners w them .  7= Ephesians 5;3 - 7 

question 3 

list the  behaviors Paul says to avoid 

sexual immorality ; impurity -  like sex before marriage ; covetousness ;  an idolator ; filthy dirty ,  foolish talk ; crude Joking ; walking in fear 

they are not evidence of walking in love because they are dishonoring to God - giving thanks humbleness ; giving God credit . they are not encouraging and edifying behaviors

Romans 13;8 

Romans 13:8, NIV: "Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law."

Romans 5;5 

And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us . 

4 how are sin - like Sexual immorality and greed like a form of Slavery ? 

you heed and give in  your wants and needs as you become its slave in service to the greed and sex instead of god . 

5 Ephesians  5 teaches grace . 

6 . Ephesians 5;8 -13 

for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good

5;15 -16 how do we handle the drifting  wind and tide ? -- Change 
In  what circumstances should  we  walk as the wise ? 
in all circumstances 
Ephesians 5;20 
8 . should  we be thankful even when a terrible / tragic accident happens . ? 

Ephesians 5:20, NIV: "always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
I think eventually yes /  be thankful  for the time we had  with that person before the tragedy  happened . 
PhillipPians 1;12 - 26 being thankful in painful and dangerous situations .
